Party of Treason

123 year old tombstone
Attica Cemetery, Harper County, Kansas

It seems that Andrew Jackson was the first purely Democratic Party POTUS who started the treasonous ball rolling downhill and it's been picking up speed ever since. There is a message of warning on the tombstone that not too many people ever see.
Through this inscription I wish to enter my dying protest against what is called the Democratic party. I have watched it closely since the days of Jackson and know that all the misfortunes of our nation have come to it through this so called party...therefore be aware of this party of treason.
Prevarication appears to be an innate trait of all politicians. Andrew Jackson misled North Carolina's Cherokee Indians by lying to them and then reversing himself and sending them to Oklahoma (then Indian Territory). To this day there are many Indians who dislike the twenty dollar bill because of Jackson's picture being on its face. Given a choice they prefer a pair of tens and often are known to refuse the twenties and trade them in for two tens.

Santayana wrote (in The Life of Reason, 1905):
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
