Sapphires and Emeralds

Guam

The colors remind one of  the precious stones of the post title. It matters not whether the photo is enhanced or not. It's a beautiful place.

Guam, located in the western Pacific, is the largest island of the Marianas. It was the site of critical battles involving the United States and Japan during World War Two. Populated nearly 4,000 years ago by the Chamorros, Magellan discovered the island in 1521. Guam's economy is supported by its principal  industry, tourism...which is composed primarily of Japanese visitors. The second largest source of income is the United States military.
